Notes about the Scanning facility

The basic scanning functionality is a temporary solution with limited controls over what is scanned and where this is sent.  The scanning facility will enable a document to be scanned  and sent via a PDF attached to a member of staff’s Inbox. The email address for the scanned document must be entered manually initially. As there will be no control over the number or size of documents sent, users will need to ensure that they manage their email folders so that they don’t exceed their email quotas. All the usual University IT policies will apply, as will the policies in respect of copyright. These may be found at the following web address  http://www.wlv.ac.uk/Default.aspx?page=6932.

If the event of unforeseen difficulties, such as technical issues or misuse, IT Services reserves the right to withdraw this scanning functionality.
