This is a
temporary post for 30 months
As
research associate you will work on an EU-funded project to develop a system
that will simplify documents for people with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
with the help of language technology (LT). You will focus on implementation of
various components, as well as evaluation of the system. You should have a
degree in computer science and a PhD in computational linguistics or equivalent
experience. Experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and
programming is required, as well as experience with Machine Learning techniques
for language processing. Publications in good journals, experience with grant
applications and working with the industry, native or near native proficiency in
English are a plus. A solid background in development of software for NLP is
required.
Required
skills: * PhD or equivalent research experience/output in Computational
Linguistics/Natural Language Processing * Experience with machine learning for
NLP * Familiarity with multilingual text processing * Experience with at least
one of the following programming languages C, C#, Perl, Python or Java *
Experience with processing of large data collections * Experience with using

Hub Promoter. You should have experience of working within either conferencing
or event and venue management, have a background in customer care/service and
have a flexible approach to working hours and be prepared to travel.
You will
be able to demonstrate the necessary commercial and marketing skills and
abilities to promote the facilities within the Performance Hub and support the
implementation of new systems and processes to enable the facility to be

This is in international project in collaboration with Indiana University

will be required to attend meetings in both places. In the nature of the post it
